Anyone else following the “emerging” church movement? C. Michael Patton at Parchment and Pen is doing a series starting with Part I. Would the real emerger please stand up? See his blog for the rest of the series including topics such as “What is Orthodoxy?”, “An Emerging Definition of Emerging”, “Fundamentalists, Evangelicals and Emergers”.
Sports: It was a rough week for my Boilers as they fell to rival Indiana Hoosiers. And being the sour grape that I am, I’ll say at least we have a coach. IU coach gone amidst recruiting violations.

Skimmed through the Emergent post. I would find my self in the view that Darrin Patrick notes at Emergent Attractional. He has great talk about the whole emergent thingy. Can find it at the Journey podcast. It is titled some thing like “three streams of the emergent”.

thanks A. dont’ know if its the same one, but i listened to patrick’s “good, bad and the ugly” series about emerging (i finally got that cd you gave me to work!).
I thought Patrick’s talk was interesting, but kinda biased because of where’s he’s coming from (kinda like having the number 2 man of the democratic national committee doing a talk on democrats and republicans), but to his credit, he acknowledges his bias right off the bat (ie. i wouldn’t consider mcknight and maclaren in the same group, but the way patrick divides his groups, you have to put them together).
The thing i thought interesting about patton’s above review was that he’s somewhat of an ‘outsider’ to the emerging movement, and therefore, somewhat unbiased (i think!?). later dude… (did you watch the religious guy w/ church planter guy video? i thought that was funny)
